DESCRIPTION:Value: $500\n\nDeadline: April 12\, 2024\n\n\n\nIn 2024\, OFSAA will award the Character Athlete Award to two males recipients and two female recipients who embody OFSAA’s values of leadership\, commitment\, equity\, respect and sportsmanship. Nominations for students in all grades will be accepted. \nThe Character Athletes will be profiled in our Bulletin magazine\, on our website\, and in our seasonal E-Newsletter. They will also receive a $500 grant from Jostens\, and a commemorative plaque from OFSAA to recognize this accomplishment.

DESCRIPTION:To be considered\, applications must be submitted prior to April 12\, 2024.  \nScholarship Program – Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (chha.ca) \nNow Accepting Applications \n\n\n\n\nFor 20 years\, the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship Program has been helping students with hearing loss attend post-secondary schooling and meet their educational goals. It is supported by donations from Doreen Laszlo (spouse of Dr. Charles Laszlo)\, the estate of Helen Allen Stacey and CHHA Networks such as CHHA-North Shore\, CHHA-NL and CHHA-YAN. \nScholarship applications for the 2024 academic year are open now. To begin yours\, please follow these steps: \n\nRead our policy and requirements in full.\nComplete our online application:\n\nClick here for English application\n\n\n\nAvailable Scholarships​\n \nHelen Allen Stacey Scholarship ($1\,500)​\nCreated in 2022 in memory of Helen Allen Stacey. This scholarship is for students in any of the following fields: Early Childhood Education\, Personal Support Worker\, Nursing\, Medicine\, or Journalism. It is renewable for up to 3 years\, contingent upon satisfactory grades. \n \nYoung Adults Network Scholarships ($1\,000)\nThese scholarships are directed to students who want to continue their education. Two scholarships will be awarded each year. It is available to students who are:\na) returning from employment to finish their diploma\nb) completing an additional degree in a professional program\nOR\nc) completing a graduate program. \n \nCarrell Hearn Memorial Scholarship ($1\,000)\nThis scholarship is offered by CHHA-North Shore in memory of Carrell Hearn. She was a resident of West Vancouver\, BC and a long-time member. She passed away in 2014 at the age of 105 and was a generous supporter of CHHA-North Shore as well as several other local North Shore charities. \n \nFrank Algar Memorial Scholarship ($1\,000)\nCreated in 2004 by the Algar family in memory of their father who was one of the founding members of CHHA. He provided outstanding service for many years and received numerous awards for his advocacy for the hard of hearing and people with disabilities. \n \nThe Dr. Charles A. Laszlo Scholarship ($1\,000)\nGenerated by Dr. Doreen Laszlo to honour the commitment and work of her husband on behalf of hard of hearing people. He was the founding President of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association and served on its Executive and Board of Directors in various capacities for 16 years. \n \nSusan Brown Memorial Scholarship ($2\,000)\nAwarded to a deserving student in memory of Susan Brown\, Chairperson of the CHHA-NL Families Resource Group. This scholarship is offered to students entering their first year of a full-time program in any area of study.
