Established in 1991 to recognize the contribution of former NBFL President Tim\nMcCarthy to the trade union movement\, the object of the award is to encourage post secondary studies of one or more years duration in fields relating to environmental protection and education. \nEligible to apply are the children of members and deceased members or\, members in good standing\, of local unions affiliated with the New Brunswick Federation of Labour who are entering or continuing their studies in an education program compatible with the object of the award.
